Summary
This position is for the Director of Clinical Information Systems for the NY/NJ (VISN 2) VA Healthcare System Network office, who will serve as the VISN 2 lead for the numerous Clinical Information Systems actively deployed across our network. They will report to the VISN 2 Chief Health Informatics Officer (CHIO), and will be an integral member of a small but expanding VISN 2 Health Informatics Service.
Duties
- Incorporates theories, principles, and concepts from appropriate sciences into informatics practice. Examples may include information, systems, and change theories. Principles and concepts may include project management, implementation methods, workflow analysis, process redesign, organizational culture, or database structures.
- Integration of ergonomics and human-computer interaction (HCI) principles into informatics solution design, development, selection, implementation and evaluation.
- Systematically determines the social, legal, regulatory, and ethical impact of an informatics solution on nursing and health care.
- Practice is based on the nursing process and evidence based research.
