CMS seeking Deputy Director, DCDRG

This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicare (CM), Technology, Coding, & Pricing Group (TCPG), Division of Coding and Diagnosis Related Groups (DCDRG).

As a SUPERVISORY HEALTH INSURANCE SPECIALIST, GS-0107-15, You will serve as Deputy Director and official convener of an internal multi-expert review panel for considering new and revised codes for the Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System.

Duties

  • Direct the work of a diverse staff consisting of various levels of professional employees who have significant expertise in medical classification, coding, and data analytics.
  • Serve as the national expert that oversees and develops the quarterly coding releases for Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System Level II.
  • Provide technical consultative assistance on medical coding problems to all parts of CMS in connection with the development of Medicare fee schedules and Prospective Payment Systems.
  • Develop, evaluate, and review regulations involved in changes to the Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System, code set and drives improvements to the process.
