The Proposal Manager is responsible for developing high-quality responses to federal business opportunities, serving as a corporate subject matter expert on the company’s business development processes and resources, and contributing to corporate marketing activities. The ideal candidate is a thought leader in their role, able to see the big picture without overlooking the details, fosters a positive and responsive team environment, and anticipates and efficiently responds to dynamic demands in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage the successful development of compliant and compelling proposals through effective collaboration across teams that include staff, partners, and supporting consultants.
- Work with the proposal team to refine and integrate win strategy themes and discriminators into written, oral, and video proposals; provide guidance to individual team members on all proposal content; serve as a leader writer of assigned sections as required, including technical, management, and other content.
- Understand and apply best practices to develop proposal schedules, outlines, and proposal plans; lead proposal kickoff meetings and status calls; organize and conduct proposal reviews; perform rigorous quality control; and ensure overall bid compliance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to lead efforts to continuously improve the company’s proposal operations, including identifying, recommending, and implementing enhancements to processes, training, collaboration tools, and resources.
Qualifications
- US citizen, or lived in the US for 3 of the last 5 years
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent diploma(s)
- Understanding of industry best practices for proposal development and real-life application
- At least 5 years proven successful experience managing proposal teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment to deliver complex Federal proposals
- At least 10 years demonstrable experience as a persuasive writer and editor of proposals and marketing materials, to include experience interviewing technical/subject matter expert
