OptumServe taps executive healthcare administrator Patrick Sargent as SVP, DOD Healthcare

Patrick Sargent, an executive healthcare administrator with multiple tenures in CEO and COO civilian equivalent positions within the Army and Military Health System, including over 15 years in senior executive positions at the Army, has taken on a new challenge as Senior Vice President, Department of Defense Healthcare, at OptumServe.

Patrick’s experience includes profit and loss oversight of a $12.3B global healthcare system as well as managing Army Medicine’s Behavioral Health Service Line and Behavioral Health Data Portal best practices that were subsequently published in the December 2016, Harvard Business Review.

Prior roles include:

  • President, OptumServe Emergency Preparedness and Response – Optum
  • Chief of Staff OptumServe – UHG
  • Commanding General/President – MEDCoE (US Army Medical Center of Excellence)

OptumServe was named to the list of NXT UP firms poised to make big waves in the Federal sector in 2020 and for years to come.
