NIH NIEHS taps longtime NCI lead to be Acting Chief Innovation Officer

Michelle Bennett, armed with perspective gained supporting the National Institutes of Health’s National Cancer Institute over nearly two decades, through roles of growing responsibility, takes on a new challenge as Acting Chief Innovation Officer with the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS).

Michelle brings recent experience with the Center for Research Strategy identifying priority areas for strategic research investment and catalyzing trans-NCI initiatives in research areas of high priority.

Prior roles include:

  • Director, Center for Research Strategy – National Cancer Institute (NCI)
  • Team Science, Collaboration, Interdisciplinary Research – National Cancer Institute (NCI)
  • Deputy Director – Center for Cancer Research, NCI, NIH
