HHS OASH recruits longtime USPTO IT lead to be Director of IT Operations

David Henderson, an industry leader with 30 years of DOD operational experience in Information Management, Cyber Defense, Software Development, and Knowledge Management, has recently taken on a new challenge as Director of Information Technology Operations at HHS/Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health.

David brings perspective gained from his recent role as an IT leader with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Application Engineering & Development, Patent Systems Division, Project Management Shared Services Branch (PMSSB), fully responsible for project management, planning, administration and reporting of various scheduled projects for implementation and/or improvement to the more than 50 individual automated information systems.

Prior roles include:

  • Supervisory Information Technology Specialist – USPTO
  • Acting Corporate Systems Division Director – USPTO
  • Lead Associate – Booz Allen Hamilton
