VA OIT seeking Director of the Business Office for the Chief Information Officer (CIO)

“The incumbent serves as Director of the Business Office for the Assistant Secretary and Chief Information Officer (CIO), within the Office of Information & Technology (OIT), supporting the Assistant Secretary for Information and Technology and Chief Information Officer, who is a political appointee. The incumbent also serves as a special senior advisor and strategist to OIT executive leadership including the CIO, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary (PDAS), and Chief of Staff (COS).”

Responsibilities:

Accountable for conducting analysis and advise to the OIT Executive Leader on the evaluation of the effectiveness of programs and operations efficiency and works to identify problems and develop proposed solutions to management difficulties, which are characterized by importance and severity.

Directs the planning and execution of special committees and task forces required to implement the strategic and operational direction of the organization.

Directs the planning, development, implementation and enforcement of OIT operational guidance, policies, procedures, and program initiatives on behalf of the CIO, PDAS, and COS.

Provides technical and administrative supervision to a multi-disciplined workforce, including several unit employees with a range of grades in the GS-12(s) to GS-14(s).

Directs the daily operation of all Business Office activities of the front office and ensures that agency policies and priorities are being followed; develops performance standards; and evaluates work performance of subordinates.
