New England area health system to share EHR data with Veterans Affairs

”Southcoast Health is offering free care to veterans through a program with the Veterans Administration, and is improving care by sharing health records with the Veterans Administration, officials said.”

“Veterans can now visit one of Southcoast’s seven urgent care centers for treatment of injuries and illnesses that are not life-threatening, but require immediate attention, said Bradley Silverman, executive director of urgent care and outpatient services at Southcoast Health, in a news release.”

“Veterans are asked to present basic information, including which VA Medical Center they use, and those who are eligible are not charged a co-pay or other fee for care…” Read the full article here.
