HHS: IHS’s Resource and Patient Management System scored poorly in most categories

“… HHS Chief Technology Office consultant Maia Laing reported Tuesday on an assessment of the Indian Health System’s IT needs. A survey of about 1,500 users of the IHS’s Resource and Patient Management System, which is derived from the VA’s VistA, scored the system poorly in most categories. Laing’s office plans soon to release an analysis laying out options for digging out of the hole it’s in, she told POLITICO—whether employing a commercial system, in-house development, or some of both.” Read the full post here.
