VA identifies new Assistant Secretary for the Office of Public and Intergovernmental Affairs

James Hutton, a leader, writer, spokesman and planner with more than 19 years of specialized focus in public relations, including strategic and crisis communication, has taken on a new role as Assistant Secretary in the Office of Public and Intergovernmental Affairs where he will serve as a Presidential appointee in charge of public affairs including internal and external communications, social media, outreach, and field operations nationwide, and intergovernmental affairs

Prior roles include:

  • Deputy Assistant Secretary (Senior Executive Service) – VA
  • Deputy Assistant Secretary (Acting) – VA
  • Director Of Media Relations – VA
