HHS ONC identifies new Branch Chief for Policy Analysis and Implementation

Rachel Nelson, whose long career with HHS includes recent experience leading activities to accelerate development of standards-based tools for health IT-enabled clinical quality improvement, fostering their successful integration with clinical practice, and serving as a senior policy advisor to the Director of the Office of Clinical Quality & Safety, has taken on a new role as the Branch Chief for Policy Analysis and Implementation within the Regulatory Affairs Division.

Prior roles include:

  • Deputy Director, Office of Clinical Quality & Safety, Office of the National Coordinator – HHS
  • Senior Advisor – Office of Science & Technology – HHS
  • Senior Advisor – Office of the Chief Scientist, Office of the National Coordinator – HHS
