GovernmentCIO seeks Sr. Director of Medical Informatics

GCIO is seeking a Sr. Director of Medical Informatics to provide sound functional, technical leadership and guidance to GovernmentCIO and it’s clients. As VA, DHA and HHS move into the realization of their vision of modernizing existing legacy systems, the Sr. Director of MI will be looked upon to provide strategic functional and technical guidance internally to the existing GCIO Health Team and externally to the VA, DHA and HHS Leadership Teams on upcoming capabilities.  In addition, the career path for this position will ultimately lead to Chief Medical Informatics Officer (CMIO).

Responsibilities

  • Understanding VA, DHA and HHS’ strategy and overall vision
  • Possess knowledge of clinical and technical health trends for input to these various GCIO corporate and client teams.
  • Role requires %50 direct support of client projects.
  • Assist with development of current health IT staff and Centers of Excellence to ensure alignment with Medical Informatics strategy

  • Education Requirements:Bachelor’s degree
  • Years of Experienced Required: 15+
