MITRE’s Center for Transforming Health is dedicated to improving healthcare through strategic and technology-based transformation. We advise federal agencies through all phases of the evolution of their healthcare transformation, from high-level strategic planning to program acquisition and oversight. MITRE is currently supporting multiple projects at the U.S. department of Health and Human Services including the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. We have a need for individuals with strong analytical backgrounds and experience with healthcare processes and information technology systems. The job requires a candidate who is able to leverage this experience to assess the “big picture” and develop actionable strategic solutions.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Post-graduate degree in an applicable discipline and 15 years of related experience
- Demonstrated technical leadership in Medicaid such as serving in leadership role in national Medicaid efforts such as leading coordination of national Medicaid fraud and abuse or development of systems and budgets for a large Medicaid Program, development and implementation of HIT efforts to improve the quality, safety and efficiency of health care, and/or leading grant programs to promote and encourage use of EHRs, health information exchange/interoperability, use of personal health records and telehealth
- Demonstrated experience in identifying and cultivating partnerships to effectively promote adoption of health information technology, especially within Medicare and Medicaid
- Extensive experience working closely with States in Advancing Medicaid initiatives
- Proven track record in evaluating and shaping research programs such as research on innovative models for care coordination for Medicaid populations, including Medicaid patients with behavioral and mental health conditions such as substance use disorder and opioid addiction
- Experience in the application and oversight of HHS related management information systems assessing quality and cost of care by Medicare providers
- Demonstrated ability to develop trusted relationships and work collaboratively across MITRE and sponsor organizations. including CMS, ONC, HRSA, AHRQ, and other HHS agencies
- Demonstrated leadership in social and/or behavioral sciences areas such as social determinants of health
- Demonstrated ability to develop trusted relationships and work collaboratively across MITRE and sponsor, based on experience in working with high level government staff within HHS
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to communicate well
- A track record of decisiveness in solving problems and commitment to taking swift action
- A track record of driving change in addressing key challenges for the Medicaid population, such as supporting or leading major policy initiatives for Medicaid, considering the people, processes and technology impacts
- Well published in areas related to SDH, opioid addiction and Medicare and Medicaid
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree, preferred MPH, in one of the following disciplines Public Health Systems, Health Information Management Systems, Health Serviced Administration and 15+ years of related experience. The candidate will demonstrate the ability to operates effectively at high levels within customers’ and potential customers’ organizations, recognizing and following through on opportunities in new areas and/or with new customers.
