HHS seeking Deputy Assistant Secretary for Information Technology/ Chief Information Officer

“The incumbent leads the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). OCIO works to develop cost effective, secure, innovative, and timely IT solutions and services to address the breadth of pressing human services and health care challenges across HHS program users and stakeholders.” 

“The Chief Information Officer’s role is to provide vision and leadership for developing, implementing, and modernizing information technology initiatives. The responsibilities of the HHS Chief Information Officer (CIO)/Deputy Assistant Secretary for Information Technology, as the Department’s Senior Official for Information Technology, are to advise the Secretary, Deputy Secretary, and Assistant Secretary for Administration (ASA) on information technology and information management matters.” 

“The CIO directs the planning and implementation of enterprise IT systems in support of business operations in order to improve cost effectiveness, service quality, and business development in support and furtherance of the Department’s mission. The incumbent exercises prime leadership in Department-wide strategic planning to improve the multibillion dollar investment in and effective use of information technology and information resources throughout the Department, in conjunction with Operating Division (OPDIV) CIOs, adhering to the Federal IT Acquisition Reform Act (FITARA) of 2014. Further, the incumbent provides leadership and oversight of the Department’s Information Security activities and develops, implements and evaluates the implementation of the Department’s IT policies…”
