“The Chief Technology Officer serves as a principal advisor to the Assistant Secretary and CIO for the Office of Information and Technology and plays a key management role within OIT with responsibility for providing expert, high-level technical advice and counsel to Assistant Secretary and CIO, executives, stakeholders, and users on matters that affect or relate to future and existing IT infrastructure, functions and programs. The CTO is the IT expert, and leverages expertise and knowledge of the changing technological environment of VA to accomplish OIT’s mission.”
