Federal News Radio: VA’s IG report finds differences, similarities among medical center challenges

As the Veterans Affairs Department continues to try to solve staffing problems throughout its system of “hospitals and clinics, the department’s inspector general has just finished its first-ever examination of what the workforce shortfalls look like at a local level. The IG surveyed 140 VA facilities. The results show some medical centers’ struggles are more complex than others, but there are also a lot of commonalities. They also show the shortages aren’t just in medical fields. Michael Missal, VA inspector general, spoke with Federal Drive with Tom Temin about the new findings.” Listen to the broadcast here.
