VA issues RFI for Enterprise Security Architecture Support

VA has issued an RFI seeking a contractor to provide Enterprise Security Architecture Support to critical IT Modernization initiatives including the Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM), Cloud Migration, Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and Sharing Platforms, Internet of Things (IoT), and Analytics.

“The Contractor shall demonstrate specialized and deep technical and cybersecurity knowledge and expertise of the new technologies that VA is introducing including EHR, cloud computing, APIs, IoT, analytics, and medical devices. The Contractor shall understand cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, risks and impacts from the introduction of these new technologies, and develop practical and implementable ESA to mitigate risks. The Contractor shall provide ESA support to the designation of VA systems as National Security Systems (NSS) as part of the Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS). The Contractor shall provide ESA support to IT initiatives from the VA Central Office, VA Health Administration, Cemetery, and Benefits, to ensure that the required NIST 800-53 Security Controls including NSS baselines are implemented in accordance with the ESA.”

The base period of performance shall be twelve (12) months from the date of award and four (4) twelve (12) month option years.

Responses are due by June 29, 2018.
