“A new AHRQ Funding Opportunity Announcement is now available for the creation and use of Patient Safety Learning Laboratories. Patient Safety Learning Laboratories are places and networks comprised of multi-disciplinary teams such as doctors, engineers, designers, nurses, information technology experts, and researchers, who investigate threats to safe patient care and proper diagnosis. The Patient Safety Learning Labs take a systems engineering approach to developing, testing, and revising solutions to patient safety and diagnostic challenges that occur in a variety of health care settings. AHRQ may fund up to 8 awards. Applicants are asked to describe the impact their proposed research aims could have. Letters of intent are due February 26. See full announcement here.
