“After more than a year of prep, acquisition, planning, building, testing, and finally cutting over, HIGLAS is now live at our new site, on our new platform. Batch is running and users will be able to access the system in the morning, ahead of schedule. Changing vendors on such a complex system was a huge undertaking and required a fantastic team – and as the federal lead on the transition, I was lucky to have such a team. It also took solid process, communications, planning, adaptability, and execution from both our outgoing and incoming vendors. Any project of this size hits snags, rough spots, and roadblocks. When we started, I told my team that our job was to plow down the roadblocks. And we did. I said we needed to learn from our mistakes and try to make new mistakes rather than repeat old ones. We did. And while there were moments when things seemed rather dark, I knew we could get this done. And we did.” See the full post by Ed Klein Here
