VA seeking OIT Operations/Production Support Chief

The position is in the Office of Information and Technology (OIT), Infrastructure Operations (IO), Operations Control and Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (OC/CMOP), Operations Control (OC). The incumbent serves an Operations/Production Support Chief within OC, responsible for performing managerial and supervisory functions. The incumbent will provide daily operational support, oversight, technical control, planning, and advisory support for all OC sites.

Major Duties:

  • Oversees numerous technical teams responsible for scheduling, production analysis, production control, production support, Application Control, customer service, file transfers, print production and creation and distribution of veteran correspondence for mainframe and open system computer systems.
  • Utilizes a knowledge of new IT developments and applications, emerging technologies, and their applications to business processes.
  • Manages and facilitates the execution of work, enforcement of policies and standards and has supervisory responsibilities over administrative and technical personnel in the accomplishment of these duties.
  • Ensures that EEO guidelines, employee development programs, affirmative action, merit promotion and negotiated agreements, etc. are followed.
  • Responsible for the efficient planning and operation of the Operations Control program areas within the designated service line and develops short and long-range plans with employees and/or contracted personnel…
