VA taps Interim CEO (Executive Medical Center Director)

Barrett Franklin,  a healthcare executive with more than 15 years’ experience working in roles of increasing responsibility, has taken on a new challenge as Interim Chief Executive Officer (Executive Medical Center Director) for Lexington VA Healthcare at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). In this new role, Barrett is accountable for providing leadership and management for all aspects of the healthcare system, a 2-hospital, 4-clinic system which employs more than 1,800 staff.

Prior roles include:

  • Chief Operations Officer/Deputy Network Director, VA New England Healthcare System – Department of Veterans Affairs
  • Chief of (Corporate Director) Clinical Engineering – VA New England Healthcare System (VISN 1) – Department of Veterans Affairs
  • Interim Chief Operations Officer/Deputy Network Director – VA New England Healthcare System – Department of Veterans Affairs
