“The incumbent serves as an Information Technology (IT) Specialist with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of the Inspector General (OIG), Office of Investigations (OI), Investigative Data Systems and Analysis Division (IDSAD). This IT Specialist will perform a wide variety of Information System Technology duties to include working with the eDiscovery product currently being used by the IDSAD. The eDiscovery Platform collects data, to include emails, documents, text messages, and calendar meetings from multiple sources and applications to provide a seamless platform in which users can preserve the data integrity and chain of custody across the entire eDiscovery lifecycle.”
Responsibilities:
- Initiate, modify, and maintain Applications Programming functions.
- Plan, develop, and/or coordinate activities with the Director necessary to design, implement, and support operating systems through procurement and installation of appropriate systems software.
- Perform eDiscovery program management oversight; provide technical expertise in evaluating and monitoring the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of the program, and apply new ideas and solutions to previously unsolvable problems.
- Provide expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other IT technical specialists on critical IT issues regarding the eDiscovery program. Coordinate short and long range plans and objectives related to the eDiscovery system, advising the Director on decision implication and impact on program utilization and plans for new IT developments and applications in conjunction with the eDiscovery tool.
- Utilize emerging technologies and their applications to improve the business processes of the eDiscovery tool. This will involve expert knowledge of IT security concepts, standards, and methods used to secure the processes within the Office of Investigations.
