United States Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity taps new Chief of Grants Division

Dave Ruane, armed with experience supervising a team composed of 12 Grants Professionals within the United States Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity, and prior experience supporting the National Institutes of Health for nearly a decade supporting a complex portfolio of grants related to scientific research, takes on a new role as Chief of the Grants Division within USAMRAA.

As a Senior Leader within USAMRAA, he is now responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a Grants Division composed of 50 federal staff members including 4 supervisors and ensuring proper facilitation and successful execution of over $1B of research and development actions annually.

Prior roles include:

  • Branch Chief, Grants Branch 1 – United States Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA)
  • Grants Management Specialist – The National Institutes of Health
  • Program Analyst, Contracts – US Navy
