Retired Military Officer and DOD/Military Health SME launches Woman/Veteran Owned Small Business

Kishla Askins, a retired military officer, national security and health policy advisor, and clinician leader with expertise in national security, medical diplomacy, strategy, global/public health, healthcare, congressional affairs and disaster management, has recently taken on a new challenge as CEO of Woman/Veteran-owned small consulting business, Global Bridge Health Strategies.

Prior roles include:

  • Principal Staff Officer/Senior Policy Advisor to the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Health Affairs) – Office of the Secretary of Defense
  • Legislative Liaison at Bureau of Medicine and Surgery – US Navy
  • Legislative Fellow in the Office of Senator Joe Donnelly – US Senate
  • Emergency Medicine PA Fellowship Director at Naval Medical Center – US Navy
