This position is in the Quality Continuous Improvement Organization (QCIO) with the Office of Information and Technology (OIT), Quality, Performance and Risk (QPR). The incumbent is responsible for acquiring and deploying technology solutions to promote information sharing and collaboration and reporting and the evaluation, design and continuous improvement of enterprise-level information technology (IT) processes affecting OIT.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees a subordinate staff performing work in the application of IT methods and techniques to research, design, develop, test and maintain computer systems and programs.
- Develops and implements the IT process strategy and framework for OI&T, providing oversight to ensure that VA’s strategic plans, mission, vision, and values are integrated into OI&T strategies, goals, objectives, processes, work products and services.
- Provides both technical and managerial leadership and in-depth expertise in support of functions associated with the development and on-going maintenance of QPR’s knowledge management systems, including Web portals, collaborative work systems, workflow systems, information reporting, document management and related programs and tools.
- Designs and oversees OI&T process training program and the identification, development and implementation of procedures, training and documentation for knowledge management and related software tools.
- Undertakes enterprise-level assignments of a special or critical nature. Conducts special studies and analyses that may have national impact and priority. Evaluates the impact of changes in business needs on current VA IT processes, conducts feasibility studies, identifies solutions, and presents recommendations to senior management.
