NIH NHLBI seeking IT Security Section Chief

“The position serves as the Chief, Information Technology Security Section, NHLBI and is the responsible Information System Security Officer (ISSO). This position develops, and implements security policy, reviews, analyzes and reports on the adequacy of security of data systems and disaster plans.”

Responsibilities:

  • Creates and maintains system-security plans, contingency plans, risk assessments, and certification statements.
  • Initiates, develops, implements, and evaluates the security programs of NHLBI.
  • Implements security programs designed to anticipate, assess, and minimize system vulnerabilities such as intrusion detection or access authentication programs.
  • Serves as a principal contact for coordination, implementation, and enforcement of information security policies.
  • Leads a team of IT security specialists.
