Veterans Affairs Office of Health Informatics recruits Chief Terminologist

Eric Rose, experienced in the design and implementation of, and training in the use of, electronic health records and related technologies, takes on a new role as Chief Terminologist for Knowledge Based Systems within the Office of Health Informatics at VA.

In his new role Eric will serve as leader of a nationally prominent team advancing clinical terminology knowledge and practice for the public good. Responsible for multiple large mapping, modeling, analysis, and consultation projects in support of legacy EHR system (VistA), EHR modernization, data standardization, semantic interoperability, health API implementation, standards enhancement, and clinical knowledge representation.

Prior roles include:

  • Vice President of Clinical Informatics – Intelligent Medical Objects
  • Director, Clinical Products – Microsoft Health Solutions Group
  • Medical Director – McKesson Provider Technologies
