VA seeking Executive Director for Quality and Risk

The Executive Director for Quality and Risk is located in the Office of Information and Technology (OIT). OIT leads the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in the design, development, delivery, and deployment of IT services and solutions that are transforming the nation’s veteran care system.

The Executive Director for Quality and Risk will be responsible for leading a centralized quality assurance and risk program; as well as seven subordinate offices.

Responsibilities

Some of the major duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Identify and evaluate OIT enterprise risks that imperil VA strategic objectives, and such is designated as the Deputy Chief Risk Officer for OIT.
  • Design, developing and implement a centralized quality, performance, risk, process improvement and compliance program to drive actions, behaviors, and business results for the execution of a robust agency-wide centralized program.
  • Provide executive oversight and management of OIT responses to GAO and OIG Report Findings and Recommendations; manage the transition to a centralized quality, risk, performance and compliance program and develop common metrics to measure quality, determine the current state of the quality and compliance program, prioritize quality improvements, and develop a roadmap to the future state of quality, risk and compliance.
  • Identify, collaborate, strategize, and partner with key quality and compliance and risk management stakeholders across VA administrations and include activities vital to VA priorities and mission accomplishment. The executive director will engage stakeholders at the executive level and form appropriate governance committees and support execution of quality, performance, risk and compliance management through integration with the ITGB.
  • Oversee the management of the entire cycle of all quality and compliance processes, leading the negotiation efforts and monitoring performance, managing compliance items and conducting reviews and performance assessments.
  • Provide leadership and guidance for qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis and metrics tracking using databases and data management tools for management and rigorous testing of the quality and compliance program and performance results.
