“The principle responsibilities include achieving IT architectural alignment, embedding information security into VA IT development and operation activities, establishing governance, and supporting business and technology projects via the program management office function. This will be achieved by deploying operational standards, methodologies and business processes to ensure continuity of operations throughout the Veterans Affairs IT community. DevSecOps, Agile, SAFE, Service Management, and Product Line Management (PLM) principles will be used a the primary mechanisms to support development and operations. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- The DAS DevSecOps is responsible for all program/project management, software development, development and operations information security, and monitoring of key information
- The DAS DevSecOps will develop, plan, and execute strategic initiatives to ensure successful execution of the OIT mission and VA objectives.
- The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the ITOPS division. ITOPS delivers enterprise-wide IT infrastructure engineering and operations services effectively, efficiently and securely to enhance the customer experience and enable VA to optimize service delivery to America’s 20M Veterans. ITOPS is made up of five divisions – End User Operations (EUO),Enterprise Command Operations (ECO), Infrastructure Operations (IO), Service Management and Planning (SMP), and Solution Delivery (SD) consisting of more than 6,000 people. This position is responsible for 24/7/365 day-to-day onsite support to IT customers at every VA pointof presence and business unit for approximately 500K employees
- The incumbent assures consistent application of OIT core business processes, attainment of organizational performance objectives, analytical integrity and timeliness of critical products and services provided to the Department, and the allocation and balancing of resource and manpower execution across all subordinate organizations…”
