VA RFI: Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Compliance Tool

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Community Care (OCC) Health Administration Center (HAC) requires a Payer Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) software solution to validate payer claims in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance regulations for Community Care claims reimbursement to VA EDI partners per HIPAA regulations.

The HIPAA Compliance tool will be hosted within the cloud environment interfacing with HealthShare. Requirement The overall goal of this initiative is for the VA to obtain a software with the capability to perform the Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI) Strategic National Implementation Process (SNIP) defined levels 1-5 for electronic data interchange (EDI) transactions.
