VA recruits MHS Medical Logistics SME to serve as Director of Operations, Planning and Readiness

Juan Cosme, whose recent experience includes time serving as the US Army Central (USARCENT) Deputy Surgeon and Chief Medical Logistics (MEDLOG), assisting the Surgeon in the planning, and coordination of Health Service Support (HSS), Force Health Protection (FHP) and Medical Logistics (MEDLOG), and prior experience responsible for the logistical operations of the Regional Health Command – Central (Provisional) providing logistical oversight, operational assistance, integration, management and supervision of 3 medical centers, 6 community hospitals, 3 health center/clinics, 11 Dental Treatment Facilities and 2 Public Health Districts with over $1B in annual supply transactions, has taken on a new challenge as Director of Operations, Planning and Readiness at the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Prior roles include:

  • Deputy Surgeon/Chief, Medical Logistics – US Army Central
  • G4/Assistant Chief of Staff for Logistics – Regional Health Command Central
  • Chief Logistics Operation & Management (G44) – MEDCOM
