NIH NHLBI RFI: Strategic Resource Management Program (SRMP)

The Strategic Resource Management Program aims to promote data-driven decision-making, transparency, and efficiency through automation. In doing so, the program aims to accomplish the following:

  • Eliminate data redundancy and siloes in management processes, systems, and spreadsheets
  • Reduce workload and risk of human error
  • Improve accuracy, timeliness, and transparency of financial information
  • Expand data and capabilities for financial reporting and analytics
  • Enhance NHLBI’s capabilities for data-driven decision making and stewardship of the Institute’s portfolio

The scope of this work is to implement a system to be the primary means for identifying, allocating, approving, and managing the Institutes resource needs across the program lifecycle and will be used for executive decision making and resource allocation. The system shall support both scientific (extramural and intramural research) and operational needs across multiple funding mechanisms and vehicles (e.g., grants, contracts, other transactions (OT), Intramural Research (IR), Research Management and Support (RMS), etc.), as well as, the supporting business processes.
