NIH: Senior Executives Association Honors Andrea Norris with 2019 Presidential Rank Award

“In November, the White House and Senior Executives Association (SEA) announced CIT Director and NIH Chief Information Officer Andrea Norris as one of the 2019 Presidential Rank Award recipients—the highest honor that a civilian federal employee can receive.”

“Each year, the President of the United States recognizes a select group of federal leaders for their outstanding achievement in public service.”

“Norris will receive the Meritorious Executive award for her exemplary work at the NIH and as a leader in the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). This award, given to only five percent of career Senior Executive Service (SES) members or SES equivalents, honors leaders for outstanding achievements in enhancing the missions of their agencies.  By recognizing the diverse biomedical research needs of NIH and the importance of remaining innovative, Norris has worked to secure CIT’s role in enhancing NIH’s mission. As the executive responsible for NIH’s $1 billion information technology portfolio–which includes a large-scale computer infrastructure expansion–Norris’s work keeps NIH at the forefront of biomedical discovery and advancing public health…” Read the full press release here.
