Nava seeking VP of Finance & Business Operations

“You’ll serve as an executive team member, working across the entire company to help set and execute against strategic goals. This includes responsibility for Nava’s overall business health by making sure that all objectives and risks across finance, business operations, contract management, compliance, legal, office operations, and partner management are addressed or mitigated proactively. You’ll support fast and high quality decision-making at all levels of the company with data and tooling that scales.” 

“You will lead a small team of dedicated financial and operations staff, managing direction and outcomes across the spectrum of financial planning, financial reporting, accounting, business operations, legal, office operations, contract management, compliance, and partner management. You’ll oversee disciplined and precise day-to-day operations that impact the entire company and its partners.” 

“What you’ll do: 

  • Serve as an executive team member, contributing to company-wide financial and operations direction and decisions 
  • Provide input on strategic company goals 
  • Oversee hiring and management for your team, including setting standards for leveling and performance, supporting staff growth, and driving accountability relative to expectations 
  • Assume leadership responsibility for all aspects of Nava’s finances, including strategic financial planning, accounting, benefits administration (AR/AP, bookkeeping, payroll, 401(k) administration), financial budgets and reporting at all levels, financial analysis (payroll allocation, cash management), invoicing, and banking 
  • Assume responsibility for all aspects of Nava’s business operations, including taxes, federal and local filings, insurance, leases, contracts, compliance (DCAA, vehicle-specific or contract-specific compliance), legal agreements and negotiations (with partners, consultants, etc), timekeeping and reporting…” 

“What we’re looking for: 

  • Deep experience in end-to-end financial and business operations management at a 150+ professional services company, including strategic financial planning, managing cashflow, and designing scalable systems and processes 
  • Experience with the operations of fast-growing companies, with a bonus for experience with government contracting 
  • Experience leading the creation of systems and processes that successfully scale with a company over time 
  • Experience leading executive-level financial planning, and supporting strategic decision making with data 
  • 5+ years of direct people management experience on core skills like delivering concrete feedback effectively, conflict resolution, and coaching reports for career development…
