HHS ASPR adds recent U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command Operations Director

COL Michael Sauer, whose experience includes over 20 years of leadership of organizations ranging from small ad hoc teams to over 6,000 people, including time serving as the Director for a $2.4B global medical life cycle management command encompassing 14 subordinate units and directorates that conduct medical research; product and knowledge development; technology assessment and rapid prototyping; has taken on a new challenge as the U.S. Army Fellow to Assistant Secretary of Preparedness and Response (ASPR), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

Prior roles include:

  • Director Of Operations – U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command
  • Deputy Medical Director – United States Army South
  • Executive Chief of Staff, Director of Operations & Policy – 32d Medical Brigade
