DHA MTF transition head Lays Out 4 Objectives for Medical Treatment Facilities Transfer

“The final phase of Department of Defense’s (DoD) initiative to transfer management of its medical treatment facilities (MTFs) from individual military departments to the Defense Health Agency (DHA) has four main objectives, explained Barclay Butler, the DHA’s assistant director for management and MTF transition head.”

“Under the transfer plan, DHA will assume responsibility for all MTFs regarding information technology, healthcare administration and management, administrative policy and procedures, military medical construction, and budget.”

“The DoD operates 51 hospitals, 381 ambulatory care and occupational health clinics, and 247 dental clinics.”
