VA identifies new Executive Director of Education Service (GI Bill Programs), SES

Charmain Bogue, who previously served as the Senior Project Management Officer for VA’s implementation of the Harry W. Colmery Veterans Educational Assistance Act (commonly referred to as the Forever GI Bill) and who, as the Deputy Director, Operations, Education Service supported a mandate to oversee a broad spectrum of education programs for servicemembers, Veterans, and their family members, has taken on a new role in which she serves as the senior accountable official for VA’s Education program with a $200M annual budget, issuing over $12B in payments to nearly 1M students, enrolled in VA’s education programs each year.

Prior roles include:

  • Deputy Director, Operations, Education Service – VA
  • Interim Assistant Director, Policy and Program Management – VA
  • Senior Analyst, Office of the Deputy Under Secretary for Economic Opportunity – VA
