Position is in the Operations Sub-Pillar of the Chief Medical Office (Pillar) for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Electronic Health Record Modernization (OEHRM), within the Office of the Deputy Secretary of VA (DEPSECVA).
Responsibilities:
- Addresses complex issues related to the operation of the Chief Medical Office (CMO) and the deployment of the new EHR system.
- Provides executive leadership and direction to CMO offices and to field facilities through the oversight of deployment activities.
- Complete programmatic and operational responsibility for contract requirements and budget oversight for CMO.
- Works collaboratively with various Chief Officers and key officials throughout VHA and VA as well as DoD to ensure the accomplishment of VA and VHA’s strategic initiatives, policies and mission.
Qualifications:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-14 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes:
- Demonstrated experience providing executive leadership for operations of a large or prominent program
- Directly overseeing activities related to implementation, requirements planning, scope and schedule control, and analysis and evaluation of operations and implementation
- Extensive executive leadership experience in management of long- and short-range strategic planning for the functions within the scope of the organization
- Demonstrated experience in overseeing federal and contract staff to achieve the development, validation, review, and approval of independent government cost estimates and major procurement objectives supporting major functions with respect to competition and price range and recommending the applicable acquisition strategy to achieve program goals.
