The Assistant Deputy Under Secretary for Health (ADUSH) for Access is a full time position that reports to the Deputy Under Secretary for Health for Operations and Management (DUSHOM). The ADUSH for Access is a member of the VHA senior management team responsible for leading the access to care agenda nationally. This responsibility includes defining, standardizing, and coordinating system-wide administrative clinic operations and management to advance VHA goals. The ADUSH for Access exercises delegated authority to act for the DUSHOM. The incumbent represents VHA by:
- Outpatient access standards and workload capacity alignment with emphasis on primary care and mental health;
- Specialty Care clinic access;
- Consult management, including establishment of tracking and monitoring standards;
- Serves and VHA’s IT business owner and manager in matters regarding appointment scheduling software and communications hardware and software…
- The ADUSH for Access will accelerate VHA’s access efforts with the aim of creating an open access healthcare delivery system.
