Reporting to the VP, of Strategy and Product for OptumServe, this role is accountable for driving relationships, knowledge and reputation for OptumServe within the Defense Health Agency and the Department of Veterans Affairs. These relationships will align with the interests of the UnitedHealth Group Enterprise but be driven by the growth agenda of OptumServe.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the strategic development of new business opportunities to existing and new customers through partnership and collaboration with OptumServe product, technology, operations and customer relationship management functions
- Maintains relationships with key influencers inside and outside of the Defense Health Agency and the Department of Veterans Affairs
- Active membership of and engagement with Military or Veteran associations and charitable organizations
- Identifies, evaluates and manages new business opportunities, includes lead generation and response management

Required Qualifications:
- Must be a US Military Veteran with at least 15 years of service having attained the rank equivalent of O-5, O-6 preferred, or a Department of Defense or Department of Veterans Affairs career employee with a GS-15 role or higher
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience, masters desired
- Demonstrated understanding of the complexities and key factors of the business; displays broad business perspective
- Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally with business lines and technology to define deliverables and solutions
- Extensive experience in the healthcare industry
- Understanding of Department of Defense (DOD), Veterans Administration (VA) and Health and Human Services (HHS) markets through direct work experience
- Health Information Management experience at impactful level
- Able to balance strategic thinking with the urgency to drive work forward
