CMS issues sources sought for Customer Service Front End System (CSFES)

This Notice concerns the potential requirement for a Vendor or Contractor to create or install existing software that accepts data using the standard X12 format, test to ensure that the data is transmitted correctly and maintain the CSFES, and to provide support services to data submitters and to CMS. The core functions pertain to managing a large, multi-component IT system. Vendors must be able to create or install existing software that accepts data using the standard X12 format, test to ensure that the data is transmitted correctly and maintain the CSFES as follows:

  1. Establish secure connectivity: manage secure connectivity options for submitting organizations or their third-party submitters. Currently, there are 1806 submitters, across the Encounter/RAPS, PDE and MMP and there is the potential for future growth.
  2. Process and validate all file and record types: Includes but is not limited to HIPAA validation and editing against CMS business rules.

Perform EDI Translator functions. Process all files using an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) translator. Translator must be capable of adopting risk-adjustment requirements…
