Opinion: Former Air Force Medical Service Leader: Time for the VA and MHS to Embrace “Healthcare is a Process, not a Place” Concept

“This is a 2 Part article. Part 1 provides an overview of the VA Mission Act (VAMA) and opportunities as a way forward under the “healthcare is a process, not a place” concept. Part 2 argues the VAMA has not gone far enough and the timing is right to create an integrated federal health system (FHS) as a means and ends to improve the health of Patriots and deliver cost effective reliable healthcare. Portions of these articles (Parts 1 and 2) have been sent to various stakeholders and Congressional representatives.”
