Government Matters: Plan to elevate federal CIO passes in the House

“The Federal CIO Authorization Act of 2018 recently passed the House of Representatives unanimously. The legislation looks to elevate the role of the federal CIO in the government, as well as grant them new authorities. Rep. Will Hurd (R-TX) co-sponsored the bill along with Rep. Robin Kelly (D-IL). While it currently has no counterpart in the Senate, Hurd told Colby Hochmuth on Friday that he’s optimistic the act will become law soon…” Watch the broadcast here.
