Former VA Acquisition leader turned consultant provides VA Socioeconomic Update

“Only 44 Days Remain In FY 2018—Still No VA FY 2018 Socioeconomic Procurement Preference Program Goals—No Advocacy/No Accountability.”

“Apparently socioeconomic procurement preference program goal setting is no longer a priority at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). With just 44 days remaining in the current fiscal year, VA has yet to issue its prime contracting and subcontracting goals for Fiscal Year 2018. Can you imagine being an acquisition professional at VA and being given your goals for all of Fiscal Year 2018 with less than 44 days remaining? But acquisition professionals are probably counting on VA’s continued flatlined goals for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB)—artificially low goals which they substantially exceed each year.”
