Forbes: Judge Deals Blow to Trump’s Medicaid Work Requirements

“A federal judge Friday dealt a blow to the Trump administration’s effort to require poor Americans covered by Medicaid health insurance to work.”

“In a rebuke to one of the first such efforts pushed by Kentucky’s Republican governor, U.S. District Judge James Boasberg said U.S. health officials “never adequately considered whether Kentucky HEALTH would in fact help the state furnish medical assistance to its citizens, a central objective of Medicaid…”

“Since Verma’s been at CMS, the effort to revamp Medicaid has been controversial, particularly the work requirement effort that a federal court has now placed into question…” Read the full article here.
