The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC) intends to issue a sole source contract to IdenTrust Services LCC that will provide Virtual Lifetime Electronic Record (VLER) Health Direct Program with the certificates and Certificate Authority (CA) and Registration Authority (RA) services need to remain Direct Trust accredited.
IdenTrust provides a concrete mechanism for validation and certification that enables participation and support of the VA s Interoperability Framework and Blue Print for Excellence. Direct Trust is a public-private partnership that accelerates secure and meaningful use of HIT through education and stakeholder engagement to advance health and transform health care. VLER Health Direct has completed the Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC) Direct Trusted Agent Accreditation Process (DTAAP) using IdenTrust as our RA/CA.
CA requires a contractor who shall meet federal security and privacy policies while acting as a CA and RA, and providing requisite services in order to facilitate Direct health information exchange. By acting as a CA and RA and providing requisite services, contractor shall be responsible for ensuring VLER Health Direct meets the requirements for obtaining full accreditation with DTAAP for Direct exchange.
