Former VA CMIO seeks support for build of CPRS Patient Record Flag

“I’m querying the group to see if anyone may have interest in helping to build a CPRS Patient Record Flag (PRF).  From a high level, it is intended that this flag would fire when any CPRS user opens the patient record for a patient with 1) Atrial Fibrillation and 2) no active script for Warfarin or a novel oral anticoagulant (NOAC).
Briefly, this is a research project that has been IRB-approved at a VA site and in review at a second VA site.  We have funding set aside for the PRF development.  This project is in the queue for national development but that timeline is, and you will not be surprised by this, very long; thus, we are looking for parallel development by a contracted developer (or small team of developers).
I am a Physician and prior CMIO at the VA site that would be implementing this, so I can help with getting the developer access to that site’s Test VistA and working with our CACs to further test and later implement the package…”
