The successful candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills and experience. Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President of Anthem’s Government Business Division, the SVP, Federal Government Solutions will have overall P&L responsibility for all operational, IT and systems security, audit and compliance, business development, legal and finance functions for Anthem’s National Government Services business. S/he will lead the development and/or refinement of strategic plans for the organizations growth and business development plans in the federal healthcare services market (with such agencies as Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Department of Veterans Affairs, Defense Health Agency, Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, Office of Personnel Management) that will stimulate growth and revenue in support and alignment with the Federal Government Solutions (FGS) organization’s business strategy.
As the most senior strategy leader within this business area, this leader will be responsible for the development and continual refinement of the FGS Long Range Plan, which captures the FGS strategy, relevant FGS capabilities and relevant federal agency priorities and addressable spend, the FGS five-year plan, and both FGS strategic organic and inorganic plans.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Responsible for standardization of systems and processes within each FGS entity as well as across entities, where possible, to achieve operational efficiencies and cost effectiveness.
- Serves as one of the key contacts with regulatory and oversight bodies such as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Personnel Management (OPM), FEP Director’s Office (FEPDO), Veterans Medicaid Services (VA), Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Defense Health Agency (DHA).
- Maintain and enhance business relationships with OPM and the FEPDO to position Anthem FEP as a preferred choice for new and existing business opportunities.
- Serve as the Anthem representative on the FEP Board of Managers of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association.
- Actively pursue identifying and leveraging other Anthem products and/or Anthem affiliates as possible vendors within the various NGS health care markets of administrative services, information technology, and support services, as well as the Federal Employee Health Benefit Program market and with the FEPDO for additional services sought by OPM… Read more here.
